Tuesday
sessions operate with a Tournament Director,
who is in charge of the match and scores it. A Steward who has the
responsibility of opening the door to the Hall, supervising the layout of the
tables and chairs and clearing away afterwards. The Steward cannot do this on
his own and relies on the help of players arriving early and leaving late to
assist. The Steward takes responsibility for one of the two keys that we have
and passes it on to the designated Steward for the next but one week.
The Host is there to play with the
odd player who arrives. If we have an even number of players the Host goes home,
knowing that when he or she turns up without a partner there will
be a Host to play with.
