Women's Fresh Start Rehabilitation Centre, near Kampala, Uganda In the past, during the reigns of Obote and Amin, many horrendous atrocities occurred. As a consequence addiction to alcohol and drugs became a serious problem in Kampala and other towns. Fresh Start already provides a one year residential programme for men along the “Teen Challenge” lines, an American drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme. The purpose of this project is to extend the programme to include women. The hub of the centre will be the Counselling building where individual help and personal life management programmes will be available. Residents will receive vocational training in sewing, cooking, carpentry, building, agricultural and office skills. After a year the rehabilitated women will be able to return to society able to make a Fresh Start in their lives. For more information please see web-site www.freshstartuganda.org
